GONZALES BANK STRIKES GOLD
  GONZALES BANK STRIKES GOLD
When American National Bank of Gonzales decided to re-brand itself to the more distinctive Sage Capital Bank, gold medals were probably not included in the multi-community planning.
However, the panel judging the Best of Community Banking Awards for the Independent Bankers Association of Texas (IBAT) felt otherwise.
The campaign surrounding the development and implementation of Sage Capital Bank was honored with a Gold Medal for Marketing.  Bank Executive Vice President Michael Murphy and public relations representative Don Michalik were on hand to accept the award during the 35th annual IBAT convention in San Antonio in October.
The integrated marketing program was aimed at both the internal audience—stakeholders and employees—as well as the external audience—existing and prospective customers in the service territory of Gonzales, Lockhart, Luling and San Marcos.
The campaign focused on the native Sage plant, emphasizing that it is “ resilient, strong and tough enough to deal with the worst that Texas weather can dish out and still stand tall and proud—much like the people in the communities served.”
The Best of Community Banking Awards recognize IBAT banks for outstanding service in the areas of financial literacy, marketing, architectural design and community service.  IBAT represents more than 2,000 Texas-based banks and branches in 700 communities.
